Parsons Artists Management, Inc Tikvah is a multi-media oratorio by Burton Beerman for saxophone quartet, soprano voice, dancer, narration and video. It is based on the memoirs of Philip Markowicz who is a Torah scholar and Holocaust survivor. Tikvah is a stage production. This documentary is about the theatrical work and the aesthetic ideals surrounding it. It contains footage collected from stage productions, rehearsals, and material from interviews with Philip and the members of the Markowicz family. It was screened at a roundtable discussion on "Raw-Truths" In Performance Media at the Conference on Media, War and Conflict Resolution. |
